On Saturday, May 30, Kamnik once again came alive with road cycling. We successfully wrapped up the ALPE GRAN FONDO 2026 in sunny weather and a fantastic atmosphere. This cycling gem drew more than 370 cyclists from all over Europe to the center of Kamnik. As is tradition, they competed on three courses, cheered on by enthusiastic fans and cycling enthusiasts.
After completing the race, the participants cooled off with a beer at the finish line and, following their athletic efforts, treated themselves to some čevapčiči, which made for a pleasant get-together and a well-deserved recovery. Then, of course, it was time for discussion, analysis, and planning for the future.
This year’s event offered ideal conditions for top-notch performances. Sunny weather and pleasant temperatures led to some truly fast times from the top athletes on all courses. We congratulate all participants on their excellent performances.

During the awards ceremony, we also presented generous prizes from our sponsors to the oldest male participant, the oldest female participant, the youngest male participant, the youngest female participant, and the team with the most members.

Over 230 volunteers, more than 50 police officers, and motorcycle patrols ensured the safety of all our cyclists on all three courses.

This year, the roads have been repaired even further, and driving through the section on the Austrian side—which, of course, offers the most beautiful views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps—is now a real pleasure.
Given the event’s success, we immediately decided to set a date for the next edition. We are therefore pleased to announce that the date for the 4th ALPE GRAN FONDO has already been set.
